Our Senior Footballers trip to Tubbercurry for the first match in the Championship proved fruitless as we lost out by a single point to a hungry Curry team. WE showed good movement in the first half to lead by double scores at the break but 5 points without reply set the foundations for a Curry win. The next game in this 6 team group stage is against St Johns who defeated Tubbercurry in their first game, this fixture will be set depending on the Sligo Senior teams progress in the qualifiers. The top team in the group goes straight into the County Semifinal with the next two teams going into the quarter finals so its vital to get back to winning ways if we are to progress.
Best of luck to all club members who are doing exams at the moment and all of the third level students who have finished their exams and looking forward to the summer.
Next Sunday our u14 footballers are out in the League Final when they face St Mary's following a great win over Shamrock Gaels in the semi final. This is a repeat of the Feile League Final of last year when St Mary's ran out winners.
Also on Sunday our Senior Hurlers play the semi final of the Dermot Molloy Hurling league when they travel to Calry to face the home team.
