It was with deep sadness we learned of the passing of Ann Gallagher of Clooncagh last week. Wife of our President Mickey Gallagher.
Ann is without doubt one of the unsung heroes of the club, and an example of all that is great about the GAA. Ann never looked for the limelight but all through her life was involved in the background of the club and an integral part of the ladies committee or any area that need a help out. She was always available assist and while her untiring work in our parish will be greatly missed the loss to a family steeped in the tradition of the club is immeasurable, we extend our heart felt sympathy to Mickey, Adrian, Enda, Raymond, Karen, Elaine, Deirdre and Fiona, her Sons and Daughters in law and, the apples of Ann's eye, her Grandchildren.
The club also extends condolences to the Murtagh Family, Lislea, on the passing of their mum, Eithne,Ar dheis Dé go raibh Siad.
Congratulations to Minor and Senior Ladies Football Player, Katie Walsh on her recently being awarded a Connaught Ladies Football All-Star for post primary schools. This is a great acknowledgement for Katie and she is the first from the club to recieve this prestigious award and hopefully won't be the last.
Also, well done to Padraig Maye and Senior Football manager, Neil Egan on their recent succes' at the Irish National Masters Indoor Athletic Championships, Nenagh, last weekend.
Ladies football 2012: Could all those interested in playing for the senior ladies football team this year get in contact with Aisling Egan as we are trying to see if there is enough players avaliable for the 2012 season to enter a team. All level of ability welcome!
