For the second week in a row we came away from MArkievicz Park with a County Title, this time our Minor Footballers won the County Minor B Championship when they did the business with a great 2-15 to 3-7 win over a fancied St Pat's team. This meant a clean sweep of titles for this squad to add to the League and 11-a-side league they won earlier in the year. From goalkeeper Paul Meers through to sub Shane Neary the lads racked up a impressive 2-15 with a great team performance where everyone played their part. Congratulations to the Management team of Michael Henry, Paddy Henry(Carrigeen), Matt Marren and Gerry Gavighan.
Thanks to all our Senior Players who hosted an open training session on Friday last for all our underage players, this gave the stars of the future a chance to meet and get autographs from the Championship winning squad, a lot of the squad were embarrassed by the hero worship but it was a chance for them to see what winning the title means to everyone in the parish. Photos from the night are now on the website www.tourlestrane.com .Celebrations are over now and Neil Egan and his squad are focussed on the 16th of OCtober when we travel to Carrick on Shannon to take on the Leitrim Champions Glencar Manorhamilton. As soon as we have details of the time of throw in it will be on the website.
