We are one week away from taking part in an All Ireland Final in Tourlestrane and to say we are excited is an understatement ! We are thrilled, but most of all we are proud . Proud of our 30 strong team of girls and their 3 managers that have given our little parish and club the belief that dreams really can come true . This Tourlestrane ladies team have reached the ultimate club day out by sheer determination and hard work and they deserve to be there. The girls are travelling to Ballinasloe next Sundayfollowed and hailed as heroes regardless of the outcome by a band of the very best supporters they could wish for . They play Glanmire Ladies of Cork and as they said any team that make it to this level will be tough but our girls intend to rise to the challenge. Meanwhile Christmas is put on hold for now in Tourlestrane club and in place of trees tinsel and lights every house is still adorned in a sea of green and gold ! We send a heartfelt thanks to all the local businesses who have come on board and sponsored the team in their quest for victory . As Fr Glynn who prayed and spoke of them at mass today said our girls will wear the Tourlestrane crest with pride and we shall cheer them on, our hearts bursting with equal pride, from those that have gone before us  cheering on from the Heavens to those that will be future club players Maith sibh cailíní you have treated us to the best !
The Final Whistle Ocean Fm Sport programme is being broadcast next Thursday night live from Flynn’s Aclare when Austin O Callaghan is travelling out to take part in the build up to the match and all are invited to come along and join in the fun. Come along any time from 7pm .
