Tourlestrane Intermediate Ladies are Sligo County Champions 2013.
The game was played under the lights in Tourlestrane at 9.30pm, infront of a large crowd, last night.
With the breeze in the first half, the girls didn't get into full swing and went in at half time on a score of Tourlestrane 0-5 St. Michael's 2-1. In the second half, Tourlestrane upped their game and drew level on the 48th minute, with a Katie Walsh goal, Tourlestrane took the lead for the first time with a point in the 50th minute but St. Michael's quickly responded. The crucial score in the 54th minute when wing forward Niamh Kelly, sister of Junior captain, Enda and Senior center forward, John Kelly, broke through the St. Michael's defence and crashed the ball to the back on the net. This put Tourlestrane in a 3 point lead with 5 minutes remaining, 2-8 to 2-5. St. Michael's responded with a quick point but momenentum in the Tourlestrane fowards followed, scoring 1-4 to finish out the game on a score of 3-12 to 2-6. Shauna Henry, team captain received the cup on behalf of the team and managment.
