Well done to Liam Gaughan, Rian Kennedy, Darren Leonard, Darren O'Hara, Richie Lang, Ciaran Walsh and all the Sligo Minor team and management who overcame Roscommon, 1-14 to 3-5, in Kiltoom on Friday last in the Connacht Minor Championship Semi Final. The team now face Galway before the Senior Connacht Final on the 19th of July. 


Hard luck to Kilmactigue U-12 girls community games team in the Connacht semi final on Saturday in Sligo IT. They team lost to the Ballinamore Region, Leitrim. All of these girls will be part of our U-12 Gaelic for Girls squad who will represent the club in Croke Park for the national blitz tomorrow (Monday) from 2pm.

Congratulations to our U-14 girls team who having done the club so proud in the All Ireland Feile Finals last week, advanced to the 'A' league final last night following a win over Owenmore Gaels in Tourlestrane. They will now take on St. Mary's in the final of the competition.


Congratulations also to the U-14 boys Feile team who won the Division 10 shield in Wexford last weekend. The team overcame Portlaoise on a score of 3-7 to 2-9 in the semi final before seeing off Kildavin/Clonegal of Carlow on a score of 3-5 to 0-5.


Thanks to Flynns Aclare , Brendan Walsh Plant Hire and Aileen Egan Accounting for sponsoring the team gear for the weekend and also a special thanks to the Carnew and Oylegate/Glenbrien clubs for their exceptional hospitality over the weekend. 

Our Senior men overcame Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in the first round of the Sligo Senior Championship last weekend with a 1-14 to 1-6 victory. The team face Moylough/Mountbellew in round 2 of the Leo Kenny Cup in Mountbellew on Wednesday at 8pm. The team then travel to Hazelwood to take on Calry/St Joseph's on Saturday evening at 7pm in round 7 of the league. 

Well done to our Senior Ladies team who competed in the inaugural Michael Cawley 7s tournament in Castleconnor on Saturday last in aid of Croí. Well done to the Castleconnor club on a well run day of football. 

The Senior Hurlers take on Calry/St. Joseph's in round 1 of the Sligo Senior Hurling Championship in Hazelwood on Sunday at 3pm. 

Best of luck to Katie Walsh, Grainne Carty, Aisling Egan, Paddy Henry and all the Sligo Ladies team in the Connacht Intermediate final this Sunday the 12th of July. The game takes place in McHale Park at 2pm. 

Well done to Mary Anne Carr who recently won the girls Cumann na mBunscol skills competition. Mary Ann was one of the stars of the Castlerock NS team who won the Cumann na mBunscol final. 


The next Banada Teenage Disco takes place on Friday the 17th of July. 

Bingo every Tuesday in Banada Abbey Hall.  Snowball €1,300 on 45 calls, Jackpot €640 on 48 calls or less Lotto  €290. Minimum of €2,000 payout each night.
