Our Senior Hurlers played Roscommon Gaels under lights in Tourlestrane on Saturday evening last. This was a round 5 fixture of the Tain League but both teams agreed to bring the game forward to avoid a fixtures clash with Sligo and Roscommon championship games respectively. Our side started the game well and went into an early lead but the visitors settled as the game progressed and went in at half time with a one point lead on a scoreline of 1-04 to 8 points. In the second half both sets of defense worked hard and made scoring chances difficult to convert. With time up and trailing by two points, the home side were forced to go for goal but in a packed goal mouth, the goal never came. The final score Tourlestrane 1-07 Roscommon Gaels 0-12.This is the second time in history that the club has played a competitive fixture against a Roscommon club, an indicator of the progress the team is making. The next Tain League fixture is on Saturday when they team travel to Carrick on Shannon.
