Our senior men's championship campaign for 2012 came to an end in Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry, on Sunday last. The team struggled to get in front and lost on the narrowest of margins, on a final scoreline of 9points to 8. The team play in the All Ireland Kidmacud Crokes 7s tournament this Saturday, the 22nd, in Dublin and the club wish them well in the last tournament of the season. FBD 7s: Group 10 (playing in St Olafs): St. Lomans (Westmeath), Claremorris (Mayo), Clonduff (Down) and Tourlestrane (Sligo). Updates of the games will be posted on Twitter.
The minor boys play in the semi final of the minor A championship this Friday at 6pm against St. Johns, in St. Johns. The teams played eachother in the group stages with Tourlestrane losing out. The team are looking to settle the scores in gaining a place in the county final. Best wishes to the team and management.
The U-16 boys were in tough luck against Shamerock Gaels in the semi final of the championship last week. After a spirited perfomance theteam lost 4-13 to 4-7.
The minor hurling team advanced to the final of the competition when they overcame Naomh Eoin on a score of 3-7 to 3 points in the semifinal of the competition.
The 150th Anniversary of Banada Abbey Convent will take place on Friday the 28th of September with mass in Banada Hall at 8pm. Masswill be followed with the history of the Sisters of Charity with presentations by Michael Collins, Tommie Marren and Danny Jones. This will be followed by light refreshments. All are welcome and it is hoped that many past pupils will also attend this historic occasion.
