On Easter Monday, the Senior Men retained the title as Kiernan Cup
Champions for 2012 when they beat St. Molaise Gaels in the final of
the competition. After a tough encounter, the final score was 1-9 to
6points. The team continued their good form with a 1-19 to 2-8 win
over Geevagh on Sunday last in Round 4 of the Senior League Divison 1.
Well done to Minor player Barry Walsh and Colm McVeigh on their strong
league debuts. The team play in a local derby against Curry, in Round
5 of the League, on Friday the 20th of April in Curry at 7pm.
The Senior Ladies were unlucky for a second week in a row when they
lost out to Drumcliff/Rosses Point on a final score of 1-6 to 1-9.
After fighting their way back into the game, the team just came up
short in the end. They also play in a local derby on Friday night when
they take on Cloonacool/Tubbercurry in Cloonacool at 7.15.
The Senior Hurlers play in Round 2 of the Dermot Molloy League tonight
in Tourlestrane at 7pm V Glencar-Manorhamilton. The team then plays
Round 3 on Saturday evening at 7 against Western Gaels in
On the back of their 1-14 to 2-4 win over Coolaney/Mullinabreena, the
Minor boys Coolera in Round 6 of the League at 7pm on Thursday
evenining in a home game. Please come out and show your support for
the young talent in the club.
The U-16 boys team played Curry in Round 4 of the league on Monday
evening. The team play Coolaney/Mullinabreena on Monday the 23rd of
April at home at 7pm.
The U-14 boys team pay in Round 1 of the league on Friday evening with
a home game with Castleconnor. Good luck to the boys and their
managment as they start off their season.
The U-16 girls team played a strong Ballymote team in the first round
of the league on Wednesday last. After a tight game our girls came out
on top on a score line of 3-2 to 2-2. Excellent performaces from Anna
Corcoran and Danielle Gallagher. The girls play St. Michaels away
The U-12 girls team got their league off to the perfect start with a
win over Curry on a scoreline of 15points to 7points. every player
giving an excellent performance. The team have a 2 week break to get
ready for their next game. Well done girls.

Also last week saw the stars of the future making their debut in the
Green and Gold of Tourlestrane when our u8 and u10 mixed teams played
their opening game of the season in Tubbercurry. There were great
performances by the 3 teams in action with over 40 children between
both age groups playing for our club. The great effort the children
have put in at coaching over the last couple of months was really
obvious to the large crowd of supporters in attendance and there is no
doubt the future is bright for the club with the skill and effort
displayed by the boys and girls on Wednesday,Thanks to the Tubbercurry
Club for being great hosts. We are away again this Wednesday the 18th
when we travel to Shamrock Gaels. We will be leaving the pitch in
Tourlestrane at 6pm for the Matches at 7

The Martin Brennan Memorial Tractor Drive have organised a talk on
"Reducing Your Risk Of Heart Disease & Stroke Making Changes For a
Healthy You" tonight in the Hillary Rooms, Banada at 8pm. Admission
